Property owners outside the Summit Fire & EMS Fire Protection District may choose to join the district. By agreeing to pay 13 mills in property taxes annually through a court-sanctioned inclusion proceeding, you will support the operations of SFE and ensure that our emergency-response crews are well trained, well equipped and capable of dealing with all hazards. If you do not already live in a portion of northern Summit County that is covered by the district -- primarily the "no man's land" between Summit Sky Ranch and Heeney -- we still will respond to your emergency just as we would any other. However, you may be subjected to a sizeable bill for our response costs. Properties included in the district are not charged for emergency responses.
Summit Fire & EMS District is fully committed to providing accessible facilities, elements and
channels of communication to all members of the public. As part of this commitment, Summit Fire & EMS District
