Interlaken Fire at 94 percent containment; Twin Lakes businesses suffer economically as leaders stress it is safe to visit the area (Summit Daily News)

The Interlaken Fire near Twin Lakes that began Tuesday, June 11, is reportedly at 94 percent containment, according to a press release from officials in Lake County. The U.S. Forrest Service reported that the fire has now impacted 745 acres. The upper lake is open for recreation, and businesses in the area are also open. The lower lake and the Interlaken Trail are the only things that are currently closed. Additionally Independence Pass is unaffected and will remain open. Read more ...
