All new construction in the Summit Fire & EMS Fire Protection District and throughout Summit County is subject to wildfire-mitigation requirements, as set forth by Summit County code and subsequently adopted by all of the municipalities. Permits are required for SF&EMS sign-off on your preliminary building-permit card and may be obtained at our administration building at 0035 County Shops Road in the County Commons near Frisco. Permits cost $150 for each building permit. At any point after the foundation has been poured -- but before you are ready to seek a certificate of occupancy upon completion of the project -- you will need to schedule a preliminary wildfire-mitigation inspection by calling (970) 262-5100 or filling out the form below. We strive to schedule inspections within two business days of receiving a request, but please be aware that during the busiest times of year in the summer, the actual inspection may not be conducted for as long as three weeks later.
